Dr. Gabriela van Sickle completed an accelerated program at Simmons College in Boston, MA. She received a BS in Exercise Science with a minor in psychology and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy with Distinction in 2013. After graduation, Gabriela moved to Richmond, VA where she completed a two-year residency program through the Institute of Physical Art. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, running and spending time with her husband and adopted dog, Mattie.
Elizabeth A. Hatch was first introduced to the field physical therapy as an undergraduate at The Catholic University of America. A defender on the women’s soccer team and a performer in the school’s musical theatre productions, Elizabeth experienced a sidelining injury when she herniated a disc in her lower back as a junior. Her rehabilitation and return to the field and stage gave her first hand experience to draw on as a therapist.
Elizabeth received a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in Arlington, VA and has treated pediatric and adult patients of all ages–from infant to grandparent. Elizabeth’s treatment style integrates manual therapy with functional strengthening and postural education to help her clients reach their fitness goals.
Her special areas of interest and continuing education have been in manual therapy, treatment of post-concussion and vestibular disorders, pilates-based rehabiliation of pregnant and postpartum women, and injury prevention and rehabilitation of athletes and performing artists. Elizabeth lives in Silver Spring, MD with her husband and family and enjoys cooking, gardening, and playing soccer with her family.
Dr. Sarah Wilson earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Marymount University in Arlington, V.A. in 2014 after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2011 from East Carolina University.
Sarah practices with an emphasis on manual therapy and is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling. While she treats spinal and peripheral joint disorders among people of all age groups, Sarah specializes in treating patients who suffer from post-concussion syndrome and vestibular disorders. She is passionate about her work and will go above and beyond to help individuals maximize function and regain independence.
Sarah is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Vestibular Disorders Association (VEDA). She is a Board Certified Direct Access Provider, enabling her patients to see her without a referral from another practitioner.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys running, high-intensity workouts and traveling. She was a nationally ranked gymnast and continues to find her motivation in working hard in order to see results.
Dr. Ernest Brown is a Washington, DC native, family physician, and founder of the house call medical provider, Doctors To You. While in medical school, a young Dr. Brown predicted a life in the emergency room; however, after mentorship by one of the country’s leading house call doctors, things changed. This experience working in homes rather than in clinics steered his focus from being a run-of-the-mill hospital employee, to fulfilling his purpose as a true caregiver by staying connected to the community that made him.
In 2015, Doctors To You was born with the mission to rebuilding the doctor-patient relationship, giving patients the care they deserve. Today, it’s a burgeoning movement in the DC area, providing both residents and visitors seamless access to quality care without having to go out and find it—the doctor comes to you! “I greatly enjoy providing both traditional and charitable house calls. I have a distinctive and patient-centric vision of how house calls should be practiced and have spent my career bringing that vision to life.”
Old-fashion? Maybe. But with Doctors To You, Dr. Brown is spearheading the return of the house call, and has achieved local and national recognition for his outstanding service by outlet such as: The Today Show, NPR, and The Washington Post.
